Scottie Update

Scott had a 10:30 basketball game tonight, and Boston has made me almost nocturnal, so I decided to do an update on what is keeping Scott insanely busy these days.

He is a little over half way done with his second semester in the Masters of Information Systems program. He is doing the PhD prep course, but is leaning towards not getting a PhD anymore. One of his PhD prep classes had a lunch the other day that the wives were invited to so they could ask questions and learn more about what it's like to have a spouse get his PhD. After that lunch Scott and I were talking about how hard it is to decide if he should get his PhD! The benefits sound so nice, but then we would have to put in FOUR more years of school and live who knows where far away from family. His professor had his wife come talk to us so we could get the wife's perspective on being married to a professor. The benefits that sounded the most enticing to me were that he would have flexible hours so he could spend more time with his family, and he travels the perfect amount(those were his professor's wife's words). She said he just needs to go to conferences every once in awhile and they try to choose the best ones and make it a vacation. They have gone to Paris and Spain! That sounds really fun, but FOUR more years of school doesn't.

Scott is also playing on three basketball teams, but he just got home from his last game of one of those teams.

Starting next week he is working THREE jobs! He is still enjoying OrangeSoda and is hoping to stay there and go full time in the summer. He also just started making a website for CALO. That is keeping him really busy in all his spare time. Our date last Friday was me sitting next to him on the couch giving him my opinion occasionally on the colors and design of the CALO website. I was just thinking that he was so busy I didn't know how he was going to do it all when I found out that spring camp was starting for football! At least he has a job, or three. With the economy right now a lot of people don't have any. We might have a lot of dates sitting on the couch the next couple months, but that's OK.

He also just got called to be the first counselor in the Elder's Quorum.

But his favorite thing to keep him busy is being a dad! I took these pictures today, so this is how big Boston is at 6 weeks and 6 days. He is getting chubby! We won't find out officially how much he weighs until his 2 month check-up, but we think he weighs 11 pounds right now! We had Scott weigh himself on our digital scale and then weigh himself holding Boston and it added 11 pounds exactly. He is the cutest thing we have ever seen and we are loving taking care of him!

Wow, I have been thinking about you lately Andrea. Thanks for the update! It sounds like you are holding down the fort while Scott is busy running around. What a crazy schedule. I forgot about spring football too. At least it is a fun job! Tell Scott hi and give Boston a kiss for us. He is growing like a weed from all that good food! Hope to see you all soon.
