Our First House Guests

My parents came to stay with us about two weeks after we moved into our house as our first house guests.  We did a lot of fun things throughout the ten days they were here including a couple house projects, celebrating Boston's birthday, going to the zoo, and just relaxing. 

Scott and my dad took Boston to Lowes one Saturday morning for their free kids project, and then they looked around for some tools and supplies to build a shelf and coat rack in our mudroom area. 

My mom and I had fun shopping at all the decorative stores while they were doing that. 

Boston was excited to show my parents how well he can ride his bike. 

 We enjoyed having more space for our visitors this time. It was nice to just hang around the house. In our apartment, hanging around the house wasn't as fun, so we tended to do more and relax less. 

Boston really enjoyed having his grandparents here to play with him. Every morning he would stick his hand in their room and wave to them, and sometimes he would jump in their bed with them. 

My parents came to a couple of the water aerobics classes that I recently started teaching, and Boston got to hang out in the kid's club while we did that. He even got his face painted like Spiderman one of the days. He loves the kid's club, especially when he leaves looking like Batman or Spiderman.

One of the projects Scott and my dad did during their visit was hang the TV on our wall that you see sitting behind Scott. They put some new outlets in the wall and made it so you can't see any cords hanging out.

Boston was so excited when my dad hung his bird houses up for him in the backyard. He's been wanting to hang those up since we were in the apartments, but we didn't have a place to hang them. 

Scott wasn't able to take 10 days off work, obviously, while my parents were here, but he took a couple days off, and we met up with him for lunch one day. 

My dad wanted to go to a Texas steakhouse, so we tried the Texas Land and Cattle Steakhouse. I give it a 7. It was pretty good, but we probably won't choose it again.

I had to include the two wreath pictures of Boston because there's a funny story behind them. For some reason Boston is really into wreaths. Before we moved into our house he would always point out Christmas wreaths and tell me he wanted one like that for our house. We haven't bought a Christmas wreath yet, but we did buy a Fall wreath on clearance one day. 

My friend also gave us a cute Valentine's wreath after we moved into our house. While my parents were here, Boston told them about our wreaths at least ten times. We would be hanging out in the living room and Boston would say something like, "Hey guys! We have two wreaths. Do you want to see them?!" Then he would run into the closet and pull them out one at a time as he proudly showed my parents our two wreaths. Every time he asked if we wanted to see the wreaths, we would just laugh and say yes, and then pretend like he hadn't already shown them to us ten times. Seeing a little boy so excited about two wreaths was pretty cute and funny.
