5 Year Anniversary

Thanks to some awesome friends who watched Boston for us all day, and some fun groupons/giftcards, we had one of our favorite dates we've ever been on for our 5 year anniversary last Saturday.

We dropped Boston off at our good friends, the Livseys, in the afternoon and then headed downtown. Our first stop was fro yo on the Riverwalk.

You know it's going to be a good date when it starts with fro yo. :)

The next stop was probably my favorite. We got to do a segway tour around downtown San Antonio. The segways were really fun to ride, but it took me a few minutes to get used to it.

Scott of course was a natural.

There just happened to be nobody else in the 2:30 tour, so it was just the two of us and our tour guide.

The segways are controlled by your body weight. There's no stop and go buttons, or brakes. You just lean forward to go, lean slightly sideways to turn, and lean slightly backwards to stop. It's pretty cool.

 

I guess we've never been downtown on a Saturday before because we were surprised by how busy it was. We thought there was something going on that day, but our tour guide said it was just a typical Saturday. We had to manuever around crowds of people a couple times.

We ended our 40 minute tour at the Alamo and got yet another picture of us in front of the Alamo to add to our collection. It was fun to do a different kind of activity that we'd never done before! We loved it.

After the Segway tour we went to Scott's very first 3D movie, The Amazing Spiderman. We both loved the movie, and I have to add that we got popcorn too because that's a pretty exciting thing for us. :) Since it was our anniversary, and we had a concessions giftcard, we figurered we'd go all out and get a large popcorn. Yep, a large, and a free refill too. :)  I did feel a little sick the rest of the night, but it was worth it. I think my movie theater popcorn craving has been satisfied for the next couple years now.

After the movie we went out for dinner at an Italian restaurant called Brio. We opened our gifts while we were waiting for our dinner. This is Scott reading some of my favorite things about him inside some Godiva chocolates.

Scott is really good with cards, both picking and writing them. We just recently finished reading a good book called The Five Love Languages, and this year he did five cards, one for each love language, and our 5 year anniversary. The different love languages are quality time, acts of service, gifts, physical touch, and words of affirmation, and each card had something to go along with each love language. Yes, I know Scott is amazing, and that he spoils me and I don't deserve it.

Then he completely shocked me and said he added an extra one which was diamonds. Zero percent of me was expecting anything like that.

Scott has really good taste. I really, really love it.

  

We ended our date with this little slice of chocolate caramel heaven, and then we picked Boston up and watched our wedding video. Dates don't get better than that!

The past five years has been an amazing adventure! It was so fun to celebrate them!
