Boston's First Trip to the Ocean

Boston's first trip to the ocean was a big success, minus a little sunburn. He was in heaven the second we got there and he saw all the rocks and dirt. Then he discovered the water, and it was pure joy from there on out. He loved being chased by the waves, and we loved watching him scream and laugh  every time the tide came in. Getting knocked flat on his face in ice cold water the very first time the tide came in didn't even phase him. We laughed at the shocked look on his face, picked him up, and then he was off again. Right back to his fearless ways. He's much braver than me. I wasn't about to put more than my toes in that freezing cold water.

That top picture where you can see me in the corner laughing has a funny little story behind it. We were trying to get Boston to come stand by us so we could get a family picture, and he was being such a ham. He would run over to the camera, strike a pose, and say "CHEESE!" Then he would run away before Scott and I had a chance to get down next to him. He was cracking us up with his cheesy poses. This little two-year-old is quite the character. As you can see below, we eventually acted fast enough to get one family picture. It was pure luck. My sister happened to snap the picture at exactly the right second, and we ended up really liking our one and only family beach picture!

The beach crew consisted of our family, my parents, Kristen and her boyfriend Matt, and 4 of my cousins; Robert, Charles, Josh, and Chelsea. The rest of the family from the family reunion opted to stay at the cabin and do other activities, either for the sake of not getting sunburned, or because they live in California and the beach doesn't have the same magical effect on them as it does to us non-californians.

Here's a 2 minute video of Boston playing at the beach!

Looks like you guys had fun! If you have never living in CA, you don't realize how COLD the water is. Even in the hottest summer months, you still are cold. Boston is cute in the video.
